Pa Auk Tawya Meditation Centre (Dhamma-Alinyaung)

  • 1964 Venerable Dhammapati was born in Mawlamyine, Myanmar.
  • 1989 He was ordained as a bhikkhu at Taung-Lay-Lone Monastery, Mawlamyine.
  • 2000 He learned Buddha Scriptures at Sin-Phyu Monastery, Mawlamyine.
  • 2003 He passed the first level of the exam for monk and received the certificate.
  • 2005 He practiced under the guidance of Ven. Pa-Auk Sayadawgyi.
  • 2006 He started teaching meditation at Pa-Auk Tawya Meditation Centre (Thanlyin, Yangon).
  • 2007 He established Pa-Auk Tawya Meditation Centre (Dhamma-Alinyaung Branch one) at Paung Township and taught meditation to all local and International Theravada monks and nuns, Mahayana monks and nuns, and lay yogis.
  • 2019 He established Pa-Auk Tawya Meditation Centre (Dhamma-Alinyaung Branch two) at Kyaukyetein, Mayangone Township (Yangon).
  • 2020 He is establishing Pa-Auk Tawya Meditation centre (Dhamma-Alinyaung Branch three) at Muttama mountain near Mawlamyine.
  • Sayadaw had conducted the meditation retreats including: 16 times of 15-day retreat at Sepin Meditation Hall near Shwedagon Pagoda (Yangon); 6 times at Kyaukyetein, Mayangone Township (Yangon); 3 times at Pha-An (Kayin State); 6 times at Sāsana building (Mawlamyine); 1 time at Thanphyuzayat and 1 time at Ngwr Saung (Pathein). Sayadaw also conducted meditation retreats in Vietnam (2016, 2018, 2019, 2023) and Australia (2019).

Venerable Kumārābhivaṃsa

Pa Auk Tawya Meditation Centre (Pyin Ooo Lwin)

  • 1975 Born in Kaing Won Village, Kaw Lin Township, Sagaing Division, Myanmar.
  • 1988 Ordained as a novice in Kaw Lin Township, Sagaing Division, Myanmar.
  • 1995 Received Higher Ordination on 15 March 1995 in Bahan Township, Yangon, Myanmar.
  • 1988-1993 Studied Primary Buddhist Scriptures in Kaw Lin Township, Sagaing Division, Myanmar.
  • 1994-1998 Studied Advanced Buddhist Scriptures at Mahāvisuddhāyon Education Centre, Bahan Township, Yangon, Myanmar.
  • 1998 Obtained the government authorized Dhammācariya degree.
  • 1999 Became a teacher at Mahāvisuddhāyon Education Centre, Bahan Township, Yangon, Myanmar.
  • 2000-2004 Continued to study Advanced Buddhist Scriptures and taught senior monks at the new Masoeyein Education Centre, Mandalay, Myanmar.
  • 2003 Obtained the Abhivasa degree in Yangon in 2003.
  • 2004-2005 Practiced meditation at Pa-Auk Tawya Meditation Centre (Main), Mon State, Myanmar.
  • 2005-2010 Taught senior monks at the new Masoeyein Education Centre, Mandalay, Myanmar while taking Sakyasīha examination & passed two texts. Went to many forest monasteries for self-practice from time to time.
  • 2010-2011 Continued meditation practice at Pa-Auk Tawya Meditation Centre (Main), Mon State, Myanmar.
  • 2012 Spent the rains retreat and continued to practice meditation at Batam, Indonesia and visited Singapore for Dhamma sharing.
  • 2013 Attended the Meditation Teacher Course retreat conducted by the Ven Pa-Auk Sayadaw at Pa-Auk Tawya Meditation Centre (Pyin Oo Lwin), Mandalay, Myanmar.
  • 2013-2014 Practiced, taught the Buddha’s Teachings and spent the rains retreat in Taiwan.
  • 2015-Present Practiced, taught the Buddha’s Teachings and spent the rains retreat at Pa-Auk Tawya Meditation Centre (Pwin Oo Lwin), Mandalay, Myanmar. Currently is the Meditation Teacher (Kammaṭṭhānācariya) at Pa-Auk Meditation Centre (Pwin Oo Lwin).
  • 2013-2023 From time to time went to Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Korea, Sri Lanka, India, China, Canada and USA to conduct short meditation retreats and Dhamma talks.

Venerable Tiloka

Pa Auk Tawya Meditation Centre (Mandalay)
- Meditation Teacher

  • Sayadaw U Tiloka was born in 1979 in Myanmar and was ordained as a novice monk at the age of 9. He is the main Assistant Meditation Teacher of Pa-Auk Tawya Meditation Centre (Mandalay branch) and has been assisting the management of the branch for a long time.
  • His teachers include Venerable Pa-Auk Sayadaw and Sayadaw U Kesarinda, who founded the Pa Auk Tawya Meditation Centre (Mandalay branch); both Sayadaw were awarded the title of “Agga MahāKammaṭṭhānācariya” in 1999 and 2015 respectively.
  • He was awarded the title of “MahāKammaṭṭhānācariya – The Great Meditation Teacher” by the Government of the Union of Myanmar on 4 January 2021.
  • He was trained under Venerable Pa-Auk Sayadaw during the six-month Intensive Meditation Retreat in 2010 and was appointed by the Venerable Pa-Auk Sayadaw to teach Dhamma in Myanmar.
  • In 2023, he accepted the invitation of “Taipei Pa-Auk Tawya Buddha Dhamma Sammādiṭṭhi Center” to promote the Dhamma in Taiwan.
  • He has given Dhamma talks and taught meditation retreats in Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia and Taiwan.
  • He speaks Burmese and English.

Venerable Kovida

  • 1976 Venerable Kovida was born in Myanmar.
  • 1990 He was ordained as a Samanera at 14 years old.
  • 1996 He was ordained as Bhikkhu at Mahāvisutārāma Monastery, Salin.
  • 1990-1999 He learned Tipitaka at Mahāvisutārāma Monastery, Salin.
  • 2000-2003 He further studied at Masoeyein-teikthit in Mandalay and awarded the prestigious title of Sasanadhaja-Dhammacariya.
  • 2003-2004 He started teaching Buddhist Scriptures at the same monastery.
  • 2006 He practiced under the guidance of Ven. Pa-Auk Sayadawgyi.
  • 2008 He started teaching meditation at Pa-Auk Tawya Meditation Centre (Main).
  • Sayadaw is fluent in Burmese and English. He has been conducting Meditation Retreats in: Korea (2010), Latvia (2010), Malaysia (2013), Singapore (2020/22/23), USA (2018/19). He has given Dhamma talks in: Singapore (2010, 2018/19, 2020, 2022/3), Malaysia (2011, 2013, 2017), China, Taiwan (2013, 2018), Indonesia (2013), Thailand (2015, 2023), Sri Lanka (2015), Vietnam (2016, 2017, 2018, 2023), Cambodia (2023), USA (2018, 2019), India, Canada (2018). Since 2020, he has been conducting Dhamma talks and meditation courses online.

Venerable Paññādhikālaṅkāra

Pyinnyaryaungchi Buddhist Education Centre
- Head & Founder

  • Venerable Paññādhikālakāra is Registrar and Associated professor of Patipatti Department of Mahāvihāra Dhamma-Vinaya University (MDVU), Myanmar. He is also head and the founder Pyinnyaryaungchi Buddhist Education Centre in Myanmar.
  • He studied in traditional way in educational monasteries in Mandalay. He was conferred Sāsanadhaja-Dhammācariya and Vinayavidū Degrees by Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture of Myanmar, and Sāsanālankāra Distinghished Sāmanera Degree by Pariyatti-Sāsanahita Board Exam.
  • After graduated as Dhammacariya (Dhamma Teacher), he was appointed as teacher in Buddhist education centres. He further studied in University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka and graduated with M.A. Degree (Buddhist Studies) in 2012. He started the teaching of Abhidhamma and Pāli in English with the classmates from different countries during his postgraduate study in Sri Lanka.
  • In 2015, he followed the guidance of the Most Venerable Pa-Auk Tawya Sayadaw.
  • In 2017, he cooperated as a lecturer in Mahāvihāra Dhamma-Vinaya University (MDVU). He was assigned as the registrar of MDVU.
  • In 2018, he was appointed as a member of representative in collaborative project between University of Chicago and Myanmar Buddhist scholars, and he conducted as a member of educational delegation both in United States and Myanmar.
  • Presently he is serving as a member of Central Examination Board in Abhidhamma & Visuddhimagga, Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture of Myanmar (2019-2020 Exam) and Religious Spiritual Adviser & Instructor of Pāli and Abhidhamma for foreign students and meditators.
  • Presently he is studying his PhD studies in University of the West, America.
  • Venerable is teaching Applied Abhidhamma (in Burmese) currently. He has given Dhamma teachings especially on Abhidhamma in Myanmar, Malaysia, Taiwan, Indonesia, and America.
  • He speaks Burmese and English.
